Forwarders: How to Set Them Up

If you are in business, you have clients.  Your clients are your company’s lifeblood and you want to make sure they are taken care of.  Clients can be small entities or large with multiple locations throughout the US or internationally.  With Casetrackerlaw, Forwarders can be large clients with multiple locations, an agency or a law firm. Each location has the ability to submit claims and the Forwarder, the main office, can monitor all locations and all of the claims submitted by each location.

Let’s set up a Forwarder in Casetrackerlaw.

Go to Manage Forwarders and click the gray button Add Forwarder.  The forwarder contact form appears where you will enter all contact information for that forwarder.  See screenshot below.  There are several email fields for status updates that are sent via the claim when working in it.  There is a Default Payment Remit Type dropdown menu that you can default to Net or Gross and a Default Claim Payment Allocation with 6 different options to choose from, CIP, ICP, PIC, etc...  Enter the Collection Rate which will be the rate for every claim entered for this forwarder.  Forwarders have creditors or clients associated to them so that when a location needs to enter a claim, they can.  The Forwarder can monitor all of the claims entered by the different locations from their portal.

Now that you have your forwarder entered, it’s time to give them privileges.  In other words, what links, tabs and buttons do you want your forwarder to have access to?  At the top of the forwarders contact form there are several blue tabs; 2 of them are Claims Tabs and Navigation Settings.  Claim Tabs is where you give your forwarder tabs to work the claim; claim info, litigation, notes, payments etc…the Navigation Settings is where you give your forwarder links to navigate the portal; add claims, manage claims, manage branches, reports, etc…  move the items from the left to the right and the system will automatically save the change.
